About Aeternum Photography

Memphis, TN, United States
Thank you for visiting my site. My name is Joyce Wright. I am a Christian, a wife and a mother to one and I own one dog. I am based in Memphis, TN. Aeternum, the name I chose for my business is Latin for eternal. Photography is my hobby and passion. My goal is to capture the special moments in life and the little things that define people. I love capturing real emotions, love, joy and anything that is natural and unique to each client. My interest in photography was mainly sparked when I purchased my first Nikon camera in 2007. My leisurely pursuit in photography now turned into my main hobby and addiction was further ignited when our little girl was born in 2009. As I clicked away trying to capture every special moment of her life, I realized that I have a medium that could be explored. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I love its features, quality and its ease of use. 2009 was the birth year of Aeternum Photography. I L-O-V-E what I do and it is my hope that you can join my photography client family.

Happy New Year / Sherekea Mwaka mpya

I guess it is too late to send my Happy Holidays message to my clients family and anyone out there. Happy be-lated Christmas everyone. I hope you had an awesome Christmas. I had the best Christmas ever and I am not exaggerating.
We (my hubby, daughter and I) have been out of the country for a month. We finally journeyed back to my home country Kenya. It was the best gift I have had this year.

As I reflect on the happenings of 2010 I have so much to be grateful for. I realised I am truly blessed girl. Below are the top 10 things I am most grateful for:-
  1. God and his saving grace and love for me.
  2. A husband who adores me and one that I am madly in love with.
  3. My sweet daughter. She lights me up up each time she smiles. She is a super smart, funny and beautiful girl. I could not have wished for a better child.
  4. My trip to Kenya with my family and the fact that we had a safe journey. It was a busy and incredibly awesome month.
  5. I had my first Christmas with my little family plus my mother, father and cousins. There was no commercialism, just church, good food and my awesome family members surrounding us. It was by far the most stress free Christmas I have had in years.
  6. My growing clients family. I love meeting and getting to know my clients family. I am grateful for the relationships and friendships I have gained through my business.
  7. My friends and family. My trip to Kenya reminded me how kind and thoughtful my friends and family are. Some donated towards our trip, some opened their homes for us to stay or eat, some donated their cars so we do not have to use public transportation, some traveled from far to see us, one hand made a floor rug for us (it took her 1 month to do this), some drove us for miles to site see the country. Everyone changed their schedule to accommodate us. We are spoiled by your selfless giving and love towards us. My Kenyan friends and family also loved my hubby and daughter and made them know they are part of our large family. There was not enough time to see everyone personally but do know we love you all.
  8. The Chronological bible study I went through this year. I encourage anyone who has not done this to do it. It is mind opening and the best thing is that you get to connect the dots. Christian or not this is a great study.
  9. Taking my hubby and daughter to my favourite place in the world. It is located at Word of Life Ukunda, Kenya right in front of the beach. When it is quiet the sound of the ocean is indescribable.
  10. Last but not least, my amazing mom. She is my hero. She is so giving of herself. I do not think any other person can love us the way she love me and my family. She loves my hubby just like he was her own son and she just adores my baby. I do not think I am biased by saying she is the best mom in the world :-).

Today is the dawn of a new era.

(photo was taken somewhere between the equator in Nyanyuki and Nyeri town.)
I hope you all have a great time welcoming the new year.
